August 22 trip to Sand Lake and wetlands west to U.S. 281, 50+ species were observed, but nothing out of the ordinary.

May 2nd at Sand Lake Wildlife Refuge had over 60 species visible from automobile
trails.

405 Ave. turning right (south) looks like an old trail because it has been underwater often. Do not go on this road after
a rain without a 4 wheel drive, and never after a heavy rain. It is okay when dry, as of 5/2/04. On the left is the large
slough with many flats, on the right a drainage ditch, and right at the end of the slough are many treed areas for other birding.
