For those who remember the summers of camp....

Do you have an artifact from your camping experience at Leif Ericson? Perhaps a shirt or hat, an Ole Horn or award? If you would like to scan it or  photograph it and send it to us, with your name and the camp dates it is from, we can add it to this page by year so all can remember. Send scanned or photographs to Big Cheese at zerrmick@yahoo.com

Greetings Alums: As you know, camp for 2010 was a challenge for the staff and the Y, but the end result, thanks to hard-working staff and understanding parents, was still a great time for the kids. As the SF Y is forward looking and always thinking about what we can do for kids in the future, we are open to suggestions on improving camp and adapting to adverse conditions such as excessive rain, flooding, sewage discharge or city improvements that might affect camp (such as road or overpass construction in the near or far future).
If you have constructive ideas please let us know. Some areas of concern: 1. Out-of-camp activities/locations in case we have to be out of camp, such as we did this summer. 2. How to develop the new north property. 3. How, and where can we acquire additional close to SF land that is near a usable water body (maybe you know a relative who might donate some land), 4. If a new area to place part of our camp or activities is offered for us to purchase, do you know someone who might help with a tax-deductible donation? 5. If we show a list of camp needs, such as buildings, benches, equipment, vehicles, shelters, boats, trees, playground equipment, etc., would you be willing to "adopt" an item by supplying it or its cost?
Examples are is the ranges and shelters at Leif Ericson, which have signs showing the names of individuals, organizations or businesses that paid for them.
