STAFF at Leif Ericson consists of over 125 professional YMCA staff, teachers, college students, and high school students. The college staff come from regional colleges and distant universities such as Yale and Harvard.  The staff undergoes an extensive training program that includes first aid, child psychology, and character training.  The counselors each are in charge of 12 campers, and are supported by junior counselors. Support staff at the YMCA kitchen make the hundreds of sandwiches (5 varieties), prepare the vegetables, juice, milk, etc. that the over 300 kids in each of the five two-week camps consume daily. High School students, college students, and educators who are interested in any of the many positions at Leif Ericson, should call the Sioux Falls YMCA at 605-336-3190, or stop at the "Y" and talk to the Youth Department staff.
