Heritage of the Big Sioux River is displayed in the River Interpretive Center at Camp. It shows examples of the history of the river from early Native Americans to the present. Giant photos, original paintings, flag displays, dioramas, and a history in aerial photos are part of the permanent display, funded by the Mary Chilton D.A.R. See photo below...

This original painting of Sherman Park in the 1920's was done for the camp's River Interpretive Center by artist Rick Mott. A large print of this is available at the YMCA for a small donation.
